Mother Nature is not ready to say goodbye to winter just yet despite the date on the calendar.
Most of the island is in for some blustery weather Friday night through Saturday with the southern-most strip being spared.
The west coast, central Newfoundland, and the northeast could see 15-25 cm while the Avalon will see a messy mix: rain Friday night followed by ice overnight, then 5-10 cm of snow on Saturday.
David Neal, a meteorologist at the Gander Weather Office, says winds will switch around to the northeast and pick up steam.
He says that will make for blowing snow especially in areas with heavier amounts.
