A relatively quiet night for police in the metro region last night.
RNC responded to two calls of reports of impaired driving, both in the downtown St. John’s area.
The first around 7:00 p.m., when police received a tip from a member of the public. A 37-year-old man was stopped and arrested for impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.
Then around 12:30 a.m. police received a report of an impaired driver in the downtown before eventually locating the vehicle in Paradise at around 1:40 a.m.
A 29-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.
Both men had their licenses suspended and vehicles seized, and were released to appear at a later date.
