A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with break and enter following a recent incident in Victoria.

Police responded to reports of a break-in at Peter’s Variety on the Neck Road in Victoria around 8:40 Thursday morning.

The suspect had left the scene by the time police arrived, but based on witness descriptions, they located him a short time later.

The accused is facing charges of break and enter, mischief, theft, possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with a release order.

He was still in custody as of Friday afternoon.
