NDP leader Alison Coffin has officially requested a recount for the election results in St. John’s East-Quidi Vidi.
Coffin lost the vote by just over 50 ballots to Liberal Candidate John Abbott, meaning the party leader does not have a seat in the House of Assembly.
Jim Dinn, one of two NDP candidates elected, joined the party leader as she submitted the recount papers.
Following Saturday’s loss, Coffin stated that she will be staying on as leader of the NDP for as long as her party needs her to lead.
