The typical eastern Newfoundland spring is upon us leaving much of the area, especially the Avalon, shrouded in fog.
And don’t expect the weather to break anytime soon. Easterly winds are responsible for the onshore flow, and not even meteorologists are prepared to hazard a guess as to when the weather will lift.
Mike Vandenberg from Environment Canada says easterly winds will push some of that cloud away from the Burin Peninsula so they will enjoy a reprieve, but the Avalon Peninsula is in for a heavy dose of capelin weather right through Friday at least.
He doesn’t know when the metro region will again see the sun and says it’s going to be Rain, drizzle and fog for the foreseeable future.
