The Department of Health and Community Services says as of Sunday, April 4, the province has administered 88,397 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and received 129,060.
To date, the amount of vaccine administered in the province is posted weekly. The Department says the data posted on the province’s COVID-19 hub is up to the end of day Tuesday and gets posted on Wednesday. As of March 30, the province said it had received 85,280 doses of vaccine and administered 69,851.
On Monday night, federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu tweeted that the federal government has delivered some 10-million vaccines across Canada. In this province, she said 129,060 vaccines have been delivered but just 69,851 doses have been administered across the province.
However, on Tuesday morning, Premier Andrew Furey was quick to jump out and update the number of doses administered. He says that gap in numbers is due to problems with reporting methods.
Therefore, starting this week, the province says it is going to begin reporting the number of doses administered on a daily basis in an effort to “better reflect vaccine progress.”
