The MerB’ys were looking for blood on Saturday and they found it, thanks to 50 donors that showed up to give.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Beard and Moustache Club (NLBMC) teamed up with Canadian Blood Services and adopted a blood clinic.
Gideon Barker, a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Beard and Moustache Club, gave for the first time.
He says that he’s never done it before but he used to go with his dad when he was a kid but he was too young to donate then and today seemed like as good a time as any.
There is an urgent need for donors on the lead up to the long weekend, especially O-negative blood because it is the universal blood type.
