Three newly-identified cases of COVID-19 are being reported in the province today—one in the Eastern Health region, and two in Western Health.
One case involving a man in the Eastern Health region is related to travel within Canada, while the other two cases—a man in his 50s and another in his 50s—are under investigation.
There are eight active cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador. Three in Eastern Health, one in Central Health, and four in Western Health.
Due to today’s cases, Public Health has issued an advisory to passengers on Air Canada Flight 8996 from Halifax to St. John’s on Tuesday, April 6, and passengers who traveled on the Blue Puttees from Port aux Basques to Nova Scotia on Tuesday, April 6.
The affected passengers are asked to contact 811 to arrange for testing.
COVID Updates on Hold for Weekend
The province will not provide daily COVID numbers over the weekend.
Any new cases will be announced in an advisory to be issued on Monday unless circumstances change significantly.
