There is a short break in the rain tonight, but it will be only that- short.
Monday’s weather will be rainy across the majority of the island, with rainfall warnings in effect until Tuesday.
The rain will taper off in the west of the island throughout Monday, with higher amounts of rain in the east.
An additional 15 to 25 mm is expected for the Metro area in the afternoon, with another 5 to 10 mm in the evening.
Meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, Brenden Sawchuk says nearly 88 mm of rain has fallen on the capital city since Friday. He says there are worries about flooding.
He says with the snow melting and the additional rainfall, there is a risk of rivers and ponds overflowing, flooding the areas.
