Premier Andrew Furey has confirmed there’ll likely be another delay in re-opening the Atlantic Bubble.
With cases surging just about everywhere in the country right now except this province, Furey says the decision was unanimous among the region’s premiers.
He says they haven’t discussed a new tentative date, but adds all four agreed that the May 3 date is “a little too optimistic” at the present time.
Nova Scotia alone reported 15 new cases on Monday, its highest daily count since early December, and nine more yesterday.
Two of the most recent cases have been confirmed as variants.
That province is closing its border to all provinces except Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island as of Thursday morning.
