A young woman from Northern Arm has been named among BGC Canada’s list of six Regional Youth of the Year.
Shealah Hart has been involved with BGC Botwood, previously known as the Boys and Girls Club, for more than 13 years as a dedicated volunteer, employee and ambassador.
The six Regional Youth of the Year award winners will each receive a personal laptop and a $2,000 scholarship to apply to their postsecondary education. They will go on to be BGC ambassadors over the next two years, participating in virtual and in-person speaking opportunities and media availabilities.
BGC Botwood will also receive a $5,000 dollar grant.
Shealah Hart is enrolling in her final year of her Social Work degree this September.
