The identity of human remains found inside a burned-out vehicle abandoned at the back of the Natuashish Band Council garage has not yet been confirmed.

The remains were discovered Friday evening.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, extra police resources, and the RCMP’s fire investigator also attended the scene.

Two young women were reported missing in the community over the weekend. One of the women was located near Happy Valley-Goose Bay while the other woman is still missing.

RCMP say the two incidents are not connected.
