Some tense moments for first responders at a house fire in St. John’s last night following reports of people trapped inside the home.
Just after 8 p.m. St. John’s Regional responded to reports of a fire at a home on Hamlyn Road in the capital city’s west end.
They were told the fire was in the lower portion of the home, and that someone may be trapped.
When they arrived they found that a man and a child had escaped through an upstairs window and were on a small section of roof just above the entrance to the house.
They were able to get the two down and the blaze was extinguished. No injuries were reported.
