DF Barnes celebrated a significant milestone this week with the production of their one millionth face mask.

The production facility is located in a single room in the DF Barnes offices in St. John’s

The masks can be made within minutes using an assembly line system with the help of several employees. Jason Fudge, President of DF Barnes, says they have the capacity to produce up to 40,000 masks per day.

At the onset of the pandemic, Fudge got to see the stress put on frontline healthcare workers as his wife works with Public Health.

He says on top of all the unknowns about the virus, there was the uncertainty around mask supply. He says they found a local solution that reduced the anxiety, and they look forward to continuing production for years to come.
