The province is reporting five new cases of COVID-19 today as well as a third hospitalization.
Three of the new cases are in the Eastern Health region. Two of those cases are travel related while the third is under investigation.
The other two cases are in the Labrador-Grenfell Health region and are travel related.
There have been five new recoveries, two in Eastern Health and three in Western Health.
Due to today’s cases a flight advisory has been issued. Anyone who travelled on Air Canada flight 8016 from Montreal to St. John’s this past Thursday is being asked to arrange for COVID testing.
Meanwhile, the province is advising of a positive COVID-19 case on board of a ship anchored in Conception Bay. All crew have been tested. The province is working with the Public Health Agency of Canada and Eastern Health on the matter.
As well, the department is advising rotational workers of an outbreak at the Oilsands Industrial Lodge in Alberta. All workers who returned from this site in the last 14 days are asked to isolate away from members of their household for a full 14 days and arrange for a COVID test.
