St. John’s City Council has voted in favour of including mobile vendors into this year’s Pedestrian Mall.
There is already one mobile food truck stationed on Water Street, so council has agreed to allow four more vendors to set up shop during the mall, which runs from July 2 to September 8.
Councillor Debbie Hanlon says just where the vendors will park has yet to be determined, but there are spaces available.
She says the city is looking forward to working with the Mobile Vendors Association of Newfoundland to confirm exactly which vendors will be taking part.
Hanlon says this year’s mall will be much more dynamic than in 2020.
The Special Events Committee will be working with community stakeholders to offer more art, entertainment, and activities to entice more people to the Pedestrian Mall.
