The RNC expects to lay criminal charges in connection with a case involving a former investment advisor who allegedly defrauded six seniors of three-quarters of a million dollars.

The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada says Joan McCarthy is facing a disciplinary hearing in connection with a number of incidents that allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2019.

The regulatory body accuses McCarthy of forging client signatures to draw funds from their accounts and deposit them into her personal account.

Industry regulatory investigators have been unable to get a response from McCarthy despite numerous attempts to have her answer their questions.

A hearing is scheduled for July 15th to set a date for McCarthy’s disciplinary hearing.
