There are four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province today.
All four are in the Eastern Health region—three are travel-related, while the fourth is under investigation.
With four new recoveries, that brings to 56 the number of active cases in the province, with two people in hospital.
There are no new confirmed cases on board the Federal Montreal, a cargo ship anchored in Conception Bay. A total of 13 crew members have tested positive for the virus.
Passengers on board Air Canada Flight 678 from Montreal to St. John’s on Saturday, May 1 are being asked to arrange for COVID testing.
Meanwhile, a COVID outbreak is being reported at the Baffinland Mary River mine in Nunavut. Rotational workers from the site who have returned home in the last 14 days must self-isolate and physically distance away from household members, and call 811 to arrange for testing.
Those workers must now complete the full 14-day self-isolation period, regardless of the test result.
