A 22-year-old Gull Island man is facing a number of online child exploitation offences after his arrest last week by the RCMP/RNC Integrated Internet Child Exploitation team.
The investigation began in early 2020 after police received reports from the US Department of Homeland Security that two young Americans had been exploited online by a resident of this province.
A local investigation led to a search warrant on a home in Gull Island on the Conception Bay North Shore in July of 2020.
Nicholas Fahey is facing a number of charges including possession of child pornography, transmission of child pornography, making sexually explicit material available to a child, two counts of luring a child, two counts of extortion, committing an indecent act, and invitation to sexual touching.
Fahey is scheduled to appear in court June 16.
