There are seven new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province today. Six are related to domestic travel and one is a close contact of a previous case.
Five are in the Eastern Health region and two are in Central Health.
There are two new recoveries and no one is currently in hospital, leaving 63 active cases in the province.
A case in the Western Health region—reported on April 23—that was under investigation has been deemed to be a contact of a previous case.
As a result of the most recent cases, Public Health has issued advisories to passengers on board four separate flights.
- Air Canada Flight 8990 that departed Halifax and arrived in St. John’s on Thursday, April 29
- Air Canada Flight 8016 that departed Montreal and arrived in St. John’s on Sunday, May 2
- Air Canada Flight 8016 that departed Montreal and arrived in St. John’s on Tuesday, May 4
- Air Canada Flight 8016 that departed Montreal and arrived in St. John’s on Wednesday, May 5
Anyone who traveled on those flights is asked to arrange for testing.
According to the Government of NL’s COVID data hub, as of today’s update, 181,454 people have received at least one dose of vaccine.
