The jury selection and trial for a man accused of the murder of a young woman and the attempted murder of a second woman in Conne River in January of 2019 have been postponed.
Kirk Aubrey Keeping appeared in Supreme Court in Grand Falls-Windsor for pre-screening this morning.
Jury selection was scheduled to get underway tomorrow, but all that has been put on hold after Keeping requested new counsel.
Keeping was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend, 28-year-old Chantel John of Conne River. He’s also accused of attempted murder of a second woman that same night.
