Nova Scotia is further tightening its borders as its latest wave of COVID-19 continues to escalate.
On Friday, the province reported another 227 confirmed cases of the virus, as well as another related death.
Premier Iain Rankin announced Friday that government will extend province-wide restrictions through May. Effective Monday, May 10, travel will not be allowed from PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador—including those intending to move to Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia is also removing modified self-isolation for rotational workers, who must now isolate for a full 14 days away from anyone else in their households.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang stressed the need to limit movement within and from outside Nova Scotia, in curbing the rampant spread of COVID-19.
