Fortis Inc., the parent company of Newfoundland Power, is reporting gender parity on its board of directors.
Shareholders elected a 12-member board during a virtual meeting earlier this week.
The chair of the board, Doug Haughey, calls gender parity an important milestone.
Women now represent 50 per cent of the Fortis Board: 42 per cent of executives at head office and 60 percent of Fortis utilities have either a female CEO or board chair.
