A female hiker was taken to hospital last evening with non-life-threatening injuries after falling over an embankment near Topsail Beach.
The CBS Fire Department says the woman lost her footing going down an embankment on the East Coast Trail 4 kilometers down the trail.
The woman injured her leg and was unable to get back up to the trail.
The CBS Fire Department and the Rovers Search and Rescue were able to retrieve her.
The woman has been transported to the Health Sciences Centre.
