Tomorrow will mark a significant day for healthcare in central Newfoundland as the brand new Green Bay Health Centre is set to open.
Dave Perry, senior director of engineering and support services at Central Health, explains that the new facility is 50 per cent larger than the current one located in Springdale and has a lot to offer.
For example, he says there are two accessible washrooms located in the main lobby, which include adult change tables. It has the same number of inpatient beds, but the rooms are much larger with individual washrooms and showers.
All services will officially transfer from the old facility to the new one as of 8 a.m. tomorrow.
Perry says Central Health will be in contact with anyone with appointments booked beyond that time to advise them that they need to go to the new centre.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public tours of the new building are not taking place, however, a virtual tour is available on the central health website.
