A new personal care home is now open in the capital city region.

Bishops Gardens in the old Bishop’s College off Pennywell Road in St. John’s is a 100-bed, fully licensed personal care home providing Level 1, 2, and enhanced care services.

The goal of the project is to help older adults “age-in-place”.

The facility also features 15 seniors apartments which are now open and a Seniors Day Club — set to open in 2022 — that will offer day-service programming for up to 80 participants.

The vice president of health services with Fort Amherst Properties, Mike Powell, says the continuum of care offered at Bishops is “unique” in the marketplace.
