Newfoundland and Labrador has five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today.
Four of the five are related to travel within Canada, while the other is a close contact of a case reported in the Western Health region.
That new case, a woman 70 or over, comes a day after a man 70 or older tested positive in the region. Officials say the investigation into the source is ongoing.
Three of Sunday’s new cases include men in their 40s in the Eastern Health region, while the other is a man in his 60s in Central.
There are also two more flight advisories linked to today’s cases:
Air Canada Flight 7542 from Toronto to Deer Lake this past Thursday and;
WestJet Flight 3422 from Halifax to St. John’s on Friday.
Meanwhile, there are five new recoveries and 67 active cases in total in the province.
One person remains in hospital with the virus.
