There were 11 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the province over the weekend. Eight are related to travel from other parts of the country and another is a close contact of a case in the Eastern region. The other two are a man and a woman—both at least 70 years old—in the Western region.
The case involving the man was reported Saturday and is still under investigation while the woman’s case was reported Sunday as a close contact of a previous case. Health officials did not say if the two cases are related.
Meanwhile, five recoveries canceled out five new cases yesterday, leaving 67 active in the province.
One person remains in hospital with the virus.

- Suncor Firebag – Alberta
- Suncor Fort Hills – Alberta

In accordance with the March 12 Special Measures Order, all rotational workers who have returned to Newfoundland and Labrador in the last 14 days from an outbreak site must self-isolate away from household members and use the online Self-Assessment and Referral app or call 811 to arrange COVID-19 testing.
