The fate of RNC officer Douglas Snelgrove could go to the jury as early as tomorrow when counsel is expected to give its closing statements.
That would be just one week since the jury was selected and the trial began.
This is the third trial for Snelgrove who’s accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty in 2014. The first trial ended with a not guilty verdict which was overturned on appeal. The second trial last fall ended in a mistrial due to a judge’s error.
Snelgrove has been suspended without pay since he was first charged in 2015.
