The preliminary inquiry has been set for a man accused of killing his step-father just before Christmas.
27-year-old Brandon Noftall was charged with second-degree murder after 41-year-old Robert Noftall was stabbed to death in Renews on December 18.
Brandon Noftall was arrested the same day and has been in custody at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary ever since.
He’s pleaded not guilty to all charges, including previous allegations of assault and assault with a weapon dating back to 2019.
In addition to the murder charge, Noftall is also accused of breaching court orders, including one that prohibited him from carrying a knife.
Eight days have been set aside for the preliminary inquiry in October.
That will determine if there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial.
