A 40-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after the car he was driving struck and damaged a retaining wall on Alberta Drive in Harbour Grace over the weekend.
RCMP were called around 8:00 on Sunday evening after a car left the road and collided with a wooden retaining wall on a residential property.
The driver left the area before police arrived, but returned a short time later. He failed the roadside breath test and later provided breath samples that were nearly twice the legal limit.
His driver’s license was suspended, and the car was seized and impounded.
The man was released to appear in court at a later date.
