The province will be listening tonight as the Premier gives his first State of the Province address—but many are perplexed with the format.
The norm is to choose a service club, such as Rotary, as the platform but Premier Andrew Furey is sending a pre-recorded video to media outlets. That means no questions from anyone after the address.
NAPE President Jerry Earle isn’t sure what to make of that, he notes that the last Premier to an address such as this in pre-recorded format was Danny Williams. He finds it “very odd” that it comes before the budget and after the Greene Report.
It starts at 6 p.m. Newfoundland time and will be broadcast on the VOCM/Big Land Radio Network.
