The Heart & Stroke Foundation will hold their 34th annual Ride for Heart next month, their biggest single-day fundraiser.
For a second year, the event will welcome participants virtually to ride, walk or run to raise funds to support research breakthroughs and help beat heart disease and stroke – the province’s single biggest killer.
Frank Healey, the senior community relationship manager with Heart and Stroke in Atlantic Canada, says you can download the app on Google Play or the Apple Store itself.
He says the fundraiser is more important this year than ever as COVID has impacted their entire operation. It has also had an effect on heart health.
He says COVID has shown to cause damage to what previously would have been a healthy heart. As a result, the number of cases they see has increased.
The event takes place June 6.
