Even though Newfoundland and Labrador have phased out AstraZeneca for people receiving their first dose of the vaccine, health officials are working to make sure none of the doses go to waste.
According to Health Minister John Haggie, there are 1,480 doses of the vaccine that are set to expire at the end of the month. He says it is the government’s intent to ensure those doses are not wasted.
He explains that if those doses cannot be used in this province they will be repatriated to the federal supply chain.
