A four-year-old girl is safely back with her family after a close call Saturday night.
The girl went missing around 6:30 while playing with friends near a home in the Placentia Junction area.
Fortunately, five members of the Whitbourne fire department happened to be camping nearby.
They immediately co-ordinated a search involving their Placentia colleagues, the RCMP and Wolverines, as well as use of a drone.
The girl was found about two hours later stuck in bog almost a kilometre into the woods.
Fire chief Jamie Budden says she was cold and wet but otherwise unscathed.
He says several children were having a scavenger hunt at the time which likely led the girl going astray.
