The long weekend began as a decent one weather-wise but gradually deteriorated as the weekend wore on with howling winds, falling temperatures, rain, and even some snow.
It's the 24th of May and we cannot get away…

Some people who ventured out to the campgrounds returned early when they saw wind chills dip below freezing.
A few days ago it was 24°C in Central Newfoundland, but then the sun went behind the clouds and light snow became the order. That’s nothing like three years ago when Gander was bombarded with a surprise heavy May 24 weekend snowfall.
It was one of the windiest Victoria Day weekends in recent memory with sustained high winds in many areas for most of the four days.
Snow has tapered to just a few lingering flurries; #Gander reporting 36 cm through 12:30 pm. Roadside snowbanks are back! #nlwx #YQX pic.twitter.com/FPvq4GOIeW
