Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in the west end of St. John’s late Sunday.

The body was found on a pathway that leads from the rear of the Waterford Hospital toward Topsail Road.

RNC believe the death is suspicious and are appealing to the public for any tips they can provide, but they’re waiting for the Chief Medical Examiner to confirm the cause of death.

Police are asking anyone with information or video footage of the area to contact either them at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The trail system is visible from homes on the east side of Holbrook Avenue that back onto the hospital property.

That section of the trail remains closed to the public as investigators scour the scene for evidence.

Police would not confirm the age of the man or whether he was a patient at the Waterford.
