The Nunatsiavut Government is developing a plan to take over child welfare services in Labrador Inuit communities from the Provincial Government.
The process is underway to transfer child welfare such as child protection services to the Nunatsiavut Department of Health and Social Development.
The department is developing a plan which will be presented to the Nunatsiavut Executive Council for approval prior to negotiations with the provincial and federal governments on the devolution of child welfare services.
