An abundance of whales drew much attention to the waters outside St. John’s harbour on Wednesday afternoon.
Dozens of humpbacks gathered just outside the harbour and near Robin Hood Bay, much to the pleasure of those enjoying the hot summer weather.
Signal Hill and nearby areas were filled with those hoping to get a glimpse of the marine display.
Videos of the spectacle show whales breaching and slapping the surface of the water with their fins.
Some particularly curious humpbacks even drew close to inspect small vessels in the area.
