Contact tracing is underway as the province reports one new case of COVID-19.
The case, identified in the Eastern Health region, is related to travel within Canada.
There are two new recoveries today leaving just four known active cases across the province.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health is reporting a major milestone in the vaccination effort.
As of July 1st, over 80 per cent of eligible Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have received at least one dose of vaccine.
Just under 21 per cent of those have received both doses.
The provincial government is aiming for that number to reach 50 per cent before mid-August to move to ‘Step 2’ of its reopening plan.
