Crews are still on scene at Murphy’s Personal Care home, investigating the blaze that began in the basement.
PCSP Chief Fred Hollett says there is no municipal water supply in the area, so they had to rely on the pumper truck from St. John’s Regional.
Hollett says damage to the interior of the home was extensive, but that this second fire started in a different place than the previous one. He says obviously something else happened again. This particular area of the fire is not where it was the other night, and the damage was worse.
Hollett says the fire started in the basement. Can’t see much damage in this shot, but he says it was worse that Sunday’s fire. @590VOCM @VOCMNEWS @GerriLynnMackey pic.twitter.com/vwHqe1YxBm

The home houses 14 seniors, who had to be evacuated for a second time. None were injured, but the owner of the building was treated for smoke inhalation.
Early Sunday morning there was a similar scene when smoke in the building forced the evacuation of all residents. That turned out to be an electrical fire due to some damaged wiring.
The scene is now being turned over to the RNC for investigation.
