A community in Newfoundland and Labrador is set to benefit from a share of $20.5-million dollars allocated by the CRTC to expand broadband access across the country.
The latest cash infusion in the Broadband Fund is set to support projects in five provinces—including British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Alberta, and here in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Bell Canada was awarded about $36,000 to implement high-speed internet in eligible areas of Sally’s Cove, nestled near Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of the island.
The CRTC says construction on some of the funded projects is expected to commence in the first half of 2022 at the earliest.
