The Opposition Transportation critic says a lack of planning and co-ordination is “evident” in recent culvert replacement work on the Trans-Canada.
MHA for Conception Bay South, Barry Petten says his office has been inundated with calls and messages wondering why the culvert replacement work just east of the Witless Bay Line has shut down.
He says travelers have to line up and “crawl through two lanes” of traffic instead of the usual four while the work appears to be on hold.
Petten asks “Where else in the country can you tear up the Trans-Canada Highway and leave it unfinished for days at a time?”
