A Paradise homeowner who has been plagued by problems at a sewage lift station next door is delighted that the town council is going to look into moving him out and purchasing his property.
The final straw for Jim Clarke was a week or so ago when a surge caused raw sewage to rain down on his property.
Clarke says council has informed him that his property will be appraised to determine a fair cost. If all the stars align, the town could end up buying his house. But before any decisions are made, the town has to have all the facts and figures and go through a process—which could take up to six months once its approved by the Municipal Affairs minister.
In the meantime, Clarke is on the scout for a rental property for him and his family to move into as soon as possible. When asked whether the moment was bittersweet because of the memories made in his old home, Clarke was blunt.
He says they have lots of memories, but most of them are bad.
