A man who once presided over what has become the province’s largest town has died.
Aubrey Dawe of Upper Gullies was mayor of Conception Bay South before the town was fully amalgamated. It is now the second-largest municipality in the province.
Dawe also served as councillor and deputy mayor of the town, volunteered with numerous charities, and was a member of the St. Peter’s Anglican Church choir for 75 years.
He is resting at Hickey’s in Kelligrews Saturday night and Sunday. Aubrey Dawe was 85.
