Three aircraft and a Canadian Coast Guard vessel have been deployed off the coast of Labrador as the search for two missing fishermen continues.
Marc Freeman Russell and Joey Jenkins haven’t been heard from since Friday.
The men were reported overdue from a fishing trip on Friday evening.
Search efforts were initially called off on Sunday, with the file being handed over to the RCMP.
A group of people gathered outside the Coast Guard Building in St. John’s yesterday afternoon to protest that decision, with MHA Lisa Dempster making an emotional speech calling on efforts to continue.
According to the RNC, three aircraft from supporting partner agencies, and the Coast Guard’s Captain Molly Kool are assisting with the search.
