Dentists across the province are starting to see people return to their offices following the initial fears caused by the pandemic, and they are stressing to everyone that it is safe to do so.
Dr. Michelle Zwicker, president of the province’s Dental Association and owner of the Bay Roberts Dental Clinic, states that they are backing calls from the Canadian Dental Association for mandatory vaccines for healthcare workers, noting that based on the province’s vaccination rates most dental care workers have already received their shot.
Further to that, she says protocols that have been in place at dental offices since the pandemic began have been working wonders, with no spread being linked to such facilities across the country.
Many patients are starting to come back, but for those who may by hesitant Zwicker warns that putting off an appointment could lead to bad results for a patient’s overall health.
She says avoiding the dentist will cause problems to snowball, and they are urging everyone to continue with regular visits.
