The town hall in Grand Falls-Windsor will reopen on Monday after CUPE Local 1349 ratified a new four-year contract.
The deal, retroactive to January 2, contains a 6.5 per cent wage increase and better language covering work-life balance and casual workers. All employees will pay into a special fund to help offset potential future increases in group insurance premiums. Further details on the contract will be made public over the next while.
Mayor Barry Manuel calls the agreement a fair one for both the town and the union as well as for citizens.
A return-to-work agreement will see the workforce phased back into their regular duties throughout the week.
The approximate 100 workers had been locked out since July.
