The St. John’s Farmer’s Market disputes reports that Lester’s Farm is banned from the market.

In fact, they’ve been vending there since early August.

Chris Lester told VOCM Morning Show co-host Gerri Lynn Mackey that they had been excluded from the market when other vendors complained that they were too big.

But the St. John’s Farmer’s Market says at no time was Lester’s banned from participating.

In a release the Farmer’s Market says that historically they haven’t accepted larger established businesses such as Lester’s, which already has its own market, in order to make room for smaller family farms and vendors.

The board chose to make a compromise for Lester’s, which was giving them a Sunday slot.
