The city of St. John’s has announced changes to the Metrobus service to provide more frequent bus service.
The city says the budget for more frequent service was approved in 2019, but was put on hold due to pandemic restrictions.
The new Zip Network on routes 1,2, 3 and 10 begins on January 3.
Buses will run every 15 minutes on those routes on weekdays during the rush hours—from 7:30 to 8:30 in the morning and from 3:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon. Otherwise, buses will run every 30 minutes on weekdays until 8 p.m. and every 30 minutes on Saturdays until 6 p.m.
Funding of $500,000 dollars is slated for approval as part of the upcoming city budget.
